Hi everyone — thanks for dropping by! Quick update today. I’ve uploaded the three SCU themes online, so you can listen to them whenever you’d like. Two of them (Theme 1 and 2) are on the website mp3 player. The third theme can be found on Youtube by following this link. As always, I’d love to hear your feedback. It’s even more important for this project, since this is a fan-based production and I’d like to know how the community thinks the music should sound!

Quick update everyone! Ryan Winzen and the SCU team has released a new trailer, as well as some important information for those interested in the project:

As promised back in January, we will have something for you guys to play while we’re at BlizzCon! Be aware that SCU PvP will only be available until the end of October. We will then pull it down for further polishing since technically it isn’t even ready for an Open Beta. It is however, fully functional and fully enjoyable.

Upon entering the arena or.. “Encephalon Grid” as we call it, you will be able to play as any class, starting at level 30 with a full set of level 30 gear.

You also will be given a mid level starting kit of abilities for your class, and may even be able to unlock more abilities during the preview if you win enough matches.

Please visit us at StarCraftUniverse.org and tell us what you think of the game on our forums once it goes live.

There is a bunch of new music that is going into the release (it will be on my site and YouTube in the next few days) — for a sneak peak Check out the Trailer!

Hello everyone! Today I’d finished revamping The Dev Center’s layout, hoping to streamline the entire music library onto one page. While this eliminates the “mood” categories, it should be as easy or easier to find what you’re looking for by using the intensity scale rating. An intensity of 1 is very subtle and atmospheric, while an intensity of 10 is heavy, busy, and adrenaline-pumping music.

This is one of the series of changes I’m making to the website in hopes of making everything easier to navigate. Several months back I eliminated redundant site categories, and now I’m in the process of presenting 3 separate tiers of musical services. The Dev Center represents the economy option of those tiers, followed by my premium stock audio. A custom music page is currently in the works — until then please contact me with inquiries via my contact page at the top of the site!

Stay tuned for news on my latest endeavors, including never-before-heard music for the upcoming Starcraft Universe project. That’s it for today — thanks for visiting! Don’t forget to tell your friends

Hello again everyone! Hope you have been having a fun and relaxing summer. Recently I’ve been working on some music for the upcoming Starcraft II mod “Starcraft Universe”. It’s pretty phenomenal what the fan-based team has accomplished — the production quality and output rivals some big-name studios. I’ve had the pleasure to work with them as they design the MMORPG/Action hybrid from the ground-up through the Starcraft II editor.

Here’s a taste of what is in store for the Starcraft II community! This trailer provides an early glimpse of what gameplay will be like, as well as provides a first look at the soundtrack I’m writing. Check back here often for more sneak-peaks of the game’s soundtrack!

As always, I love feedback — both the good and the bad. I want to give the fans that will be playing this game the opportunity to help me sculpt a soundtrack that does the Starcraft Universe justice!

Those of you who have regularly visit the site (good to see you again ) may have been noticing some revisions to the way content is displayed. I’ve made links more visible, and reorganized the different categories of posts in an attempt to minimize redundancy. All of the original content is there – but it should be easier for visitors to find!

I’ll be making an official post about my new line of royalty-free audio (www.audio.davidorr.net), but here’s a brief update. I’ve been adding to a collection of premium royalty-free audio. This is meant to bridge the gap between my free resource “The Dev Center”, and personalized custom audio. There is a huge market gap between the two, and providing a paid, higher-quality version of The Dev Center will allow those with increasing (yet still limited) budgets to step up to a higher quality of audio.

More to come – in the meantime feel free to stream the newly-added Flight music from the sidebar MP3 player !

I have a few new updates for you. For the Larry fans out there, if you haven’t checked out JAZZA’s latest mini-game Larry: Pup Run, go give it a play!. It features the same styled music that has become iconic to the Larry series.

Krin has just released his next flash-hit, titled Flight! In this game, your goal is to throw a paper airplane as far as you can. You can collect stars along the way, which allow you to purchase upgrades that make your plane fly greater distances. I scored the music for the game with the exception of the menu music.

You can find the in-game music, titled Soaring in the Stars on Newgrounds. If you’re looking for the menu music, Casey001 from Aviary.com has posted it for your listening pleasure. Great work Casey!

UPDATE: For those looking for the Sonny 2 overworld music – you can find it in .WAV format below!

Hi everyone! Time for a much overdue update. For those of you familiar with the Larry series, you’ll be pleased to hear we’ve released a full-length soundtrack featuring much of the music from Larry and the Gnomes! You can purchase it digitally off of iTunes (just search for Larry and the Gnomes), or a hard copy off of the Newgrounds Store. It’s a great way to show your support for the Larry series!

Next up, Alice is Dead 3 was recently released on Newgrounds. This is the third installment of the Alice is Dead series, which completes the trilogy. There was a fantastic production team involved with the entire series, and I am extremely glad I was asked to score the third. The trilogy is a very dark interpretation of the world of Alice in Wonderland, and is a real great play for fans and newcomers alike.

I have a couple of really big projects I’ll be working on this fall, so stay tuned!

I’ve just finished writing the music for Josiah Brooks’ (JAZZA) latest flash game based on his hit cartoon series, Larry. I’ve written about 10 minutes of music total for the game, which was released today. If you’re not familiar with Larry, don’t worry – it doesn’t require any knowledge to have a great experience. Just load the game and start fighting. Click here to start playing!

Below is a sampling of the music you’ll hear in the game. You can visit Newgrounds.com to download it. While you’re there, don’t forget to vote for it !

If you like what you hear, you can pre-order the game soundtrack, set to be released early July. It’ll lengthen out all of the pieces in the sample above, plus additional music (for a total of 11 full-length tracks). It’s a great way to show support and get some music in return!

Hi Everyone! This is the first of a couple of updates I’ll be making in a couple of days- I have a lot of new music and updates for the site!

First off, I’d like to show you a short piece I wrote for Melissa Lee, an animation student. She’s working on an animation based on animals found in old world China, which is looking great. I got to test out some sounds I’ve recently purchased from East West (QL Ra), which has ethnic instruments from many regions around the world. I think it turned out really well – it has a different sound that some of my other work, but I think it still has that flavor people look for in my music. Let me know what you think!

P.S- An update to The Dev Center is coming shortly – more on that soon!
