Article: My Newfound Respect for Daddy’s Junky Music

I’ve never been a big fan of Daddy’s Junky Music. Their stores always seemed unorganized and hard to navigate. Their selection of keyboards (which is generally what I am getting if I go in there) isn’t among the greatest. Several months back I needed a keyboard controller, and my first choice was the Korg MicroKontrol. Daddy’s was selling a used Korg MicroKontrol for pretty cheap (don’t remember the exact price now, It was around $200 I believe), so I headed over to my nearest Daddy’s and inquired about it, to find it had already been sold. The sales person who told me this then informed me that he in fact bought the used keyboard, and the proceeded to rub it in my face. My opinion of Daddy’s was sinking faster than a rock in the water. Review: Casio Privia PX 310

I’ve always thought of Casio keyboards as being the “budget” keyboard when compared with Yamaha and Korg. In fact, I often just skipped right past the Casio section when browsing for a keyboard. Stupid? You bet. (continue reading…)
